About Wahlen Corp.

Wahlen Corp was formed in 1971 by Ted Wahlen.  Ted started a “Mr. Porta” franchise that provided mobile pressure washing services to truck fleets.  The parent company folded shortly after, but in a few short years, Ted was running a successful mobile pressure washing company and changed the name to Porta Service.

Kurt Wahlen, Ted’s son, took over the company in 1992 and began growing the services that the company offered.  We expanded into Parking Facility cleaning and haven’t looked back.  Jim Wahlen started working for Kurt in high school and left temporarily to attend college at The University of Wisconsin- La Crosse.  He gained experience with several large corporations before deciding that he appreciated the environment of a Family Business over being just a number in a corporation.  Jim returned in 2008 and has been helping Kurt with the day to day operations since.

In 2011, we purchased All Pavement Marking as a complement to our Pressure Washing services.  It was another family owned and operated company with a very similar culture.  Barb Helker, the owner’s daughter, agreed to stay and work with us and helped make the transition and is still here, helping us manage the day to day operations of our Pavement Marking Division.

Wahlen Corp is now a one stop shop for pressure washing, parking lot striping, and concrete sealing in the Milwaukee area.  We work with facility managers, property managers, fleet managers, general contractors, and paving companies, providing them with a multitude of services that meet their needs.

Flexibility: We have the capability to customize our service to our customers’ needs and their budget.  Sometimes Mother Nature throws us a curveball and services cannot be performed as scheduled.  We maintain flexibility with our scheduling that allows us to adjust to these circumstances.  There is also no “one size fits all” approach to pressure washing or parking lot striping.  We work with our customers to customize our service to fit their needs.

Effective Communication:  In order to meet our customers’ needs, we need to know what they are.  With our experience in the industry, we know what questions to ask and how to approach many different types of issues that our customers face.  We gain knowledge of the parameters that our customers set for us and perform our services accordingly.

Efficient:  In both pressure washing and pavement marking, efficiency is crucial for the customer.  We know that when we are performing the service, it is not accessible to our customer.  Whether it be getting a truck fleet back on the road or re-gaining access to a parking facility, our process is very efficient while maintaining the highest quality results possible.
